When I look at my life as many of us do.  I think of all the opportunities that I have had and choices I have made.  I think how many times I did not listen to my parents because I thought I knew better and then it turned out I was wrong, go figure.  Well, when it comes to God, I can think of the many hundreds, if not thousands of times I have given God the same treatment.  I am so thankful that God is the father in the story of the prodigal son, because it is in that story that we realize he takes us just as we are.  We do not have to go through life worried about how we live, but rather how we live for Him.  We will make mistakes, as he knows, and sometimes we will knowingly choose to sin, but even through all that Jesus sees us as blameless and pure.  We are supposed to honor him everyday and in every moment, but I do want to take this day, Father’s Day, and thank him for allowing me to be me.  I am thankful for a Father who created me to be just as I am, but more so a Father who gave the ultimate sacrifice that I, His Adopted Beloved Son, may spend eternity with him.  Please don’t forget he did it for you, too!
