I have looked at my life millions of times and thought of all the mistakes I have made. I would see me for the person I thought I was and never once did I stop to realize the person Jesus says I am. I would allow my struggles to control me and I would give in. I always made the simple excuse of well that’s my thorn in my side. Well, that is all it was an excuse, you see I understand just as many of you we choose our sin and sometimes we just don’t care. It hasn’t been a long time but I would say in this past year I have learned to give my devotion to Christ. It doesn’t mean I haven’t sinned, but I can tell you my sin list has shortened and the consequences of my sin are far less destructive than before. It is not for us to go around and say OK well I won’t do this sin, but I will do that sin, NO! It is more like I want to stay focused on what God has blessed me with and the people He is allowing to come into my life. So, if I do feel weak and give in, do not give into a sin that you know the consequences are heavy. This might better be explained through an example and it is what every man says they struggle with which is Lust. The person who gives into temptation of lust and chooses to get on a computer and look at images is sinning, now their consequences of that sin are conviction, isolation, guilt and shame. There are others but those are typically the first, but as you see they are self- inflicting. Now, someone else who struggles with the sin of lust and goes out and meets someone, well they have the same types of consequences as the first with a few more such as disease, being hurt, being arrested, etc. There are consequences to our sin and when we become devoted to Christ we learn to draw near to him. When we do this we do not struggle as much but we still struggle. It is in our Wisdom given to us by God that if we fall we must keep our sin list short, but more so have people in place where we can call or text for help. You see if we hold on even to our short sin list and do not get prayer, we can experience a snowball effect and end up somewhere we never wanted to be again. I can not call you if I am standing on the edge of the mountain about to jump, but if I call you on my way to the edge at least I am giving you some time to meet me there. We all want help and a lot if times our pride will trick us or shame will overcome us. Jesus is completely devoted to us and proved it by taking all of our sins, in turn we must become devoted to him, so we can know our sins are forgiven and our lives and hearts can shine the Love, Healing and Forgiveness of our Papa! Our Most High Almighty.
One Love, One King, All Christ!
