The past week has taught me a lot about prayer and the power of it. More so it has taught me that life is sobering when someone you love is unexpectedly injured, attacked or taken home to be with the Lord. I have come to understand that we need endurance when it comes to prayer and we can never let up. God will constantly place people on your heart to pray for. I can see why the Devil uses sin, to keep us drunk and not focused on life. When you think about it, our sin keeps us focused on us and swimming in shame and guilt. This incident, with my dear friend and brother Brett, has been a sobering moment in my life. It is a life changer. This is the second person in my life that I love dearly that was very hurt and sick, but in this case God has chosen to listening to our begging for his life and honored it. I realize every moment matters because the phrase “it will never happen to me” just doesn’t hold any truth. Having a sober spirit in Christ increases your intimacy with him and your discernment of who needs praying for and for what to say. Being sober allows the Holy Spirit to use you as a vessel to reach others and you get to feel the power of prayer. God is a good God and chose to honor our pleas and so in this we must fight to stay sober in the spirit because we never know, in what moment, we may take our last breath. Please my friends continue your prayers for Brett Parks as he is fighting moment by moment for his life. Pray that his wife stays calm as she is ready to give birth in the next month and Pray for his family. Thank you Papa and give us all endurance to persevere through this fight and all others that Life throws our way.
One Love, One King, All Christ!
