A man of his word

I am so thankful that God has always been a man of his word. There has been no better example of integrity in my life. His example has helped transform me into the man of God I am today.  I know these same traits he has instilled in me are not for me but for others to see the light of Christ.  I know he has designed me to be a good son, brother, teacher, coach and future husband and father.  The love of Christ resonates in every word that was spoken from his mouth.  He lets us know that since he is for us, there is abosolutely nothing that can stand against us. We will feel at times our world is crumbling before our eyes but if we are rooted in Christ when things start falling and pressing us down, Christ will cover us with his wings.  I will be obedient to a God who says he is there because honestly I know he is.  Jesus is a Man of His Word and my life depends on that! Amen

Keep Your Focus

First before I start, I want to Praise God for having his hand of protection over one of my friends daughters yesterday.  She was involved in a serious accident and was OK, by the grace of God.  She is still in my prayers for a full and total recovery, but nonetheless God showed up.  Now, about keeping your focus.  I was so caught up in the trials I have been facing that I did not even pay attention to the fact that I was not focusing my prayers on other people.  I know that God is protecting me through these trials as they come, but my prayers need to be focused on those in my life.  God let me know through  phone call that there are more pressing issues in other peoples lives than the trials I am facing.  If God is for us then who can be against us right?  Well I will hold true to that and keep my focus on other peoples hearts and lives, including those who try and hurt me.  It is amazing to see how easily we can be distracted even when we are staying in line with Christ.  We have to surrender ourselves to him and allow him to actually work out our healing and whatever is going on in our own lives, so in that trust we have for him we can focus on others.  My life is not my own and because I have chosen Christ I should not be surprised that people would want to persecute me.  However, when I thought about that I realized, my trials though challenging to me, are in comparison to those trials I saw in Nicaragua, nothing.  I am not saying what we have to deal with is not hard or tough to get through, but when you see the evil people persevere through for Christ in this World, you realize that your life and trials are not as heavy a burden to bare.  I know God will carry me through this storm and I want to leave it at that and no longer focus on whats happening, I want to focus on all the people God is placing in my path, people that know me and love me and people I can let see Christ shine through me.  I am thankful for a God who talks to us through his word and his breath… Thank you Lord for reminding me to Keep My Focus on your Sheep… I love you Lord! Amen
